Bram Sniekers

Biography

Bram Sniekers started his initial music studies in Thorn, the city where he grew up. Later, he studied Trumpet with Theo Wolters and Orchestra Conducting with Enrico Delamboye, Jan Stulen
and Jan Cober at the Conservatory of Maastricht.
He also participated in master classes of Conducting with Pierre Kuijpers, Vince Mendoza and Sir Neville Marriner as well as Trumpet classes with Professors Frits Damrow, Hakan Hardenberger, Bo Nilson and Allan Vizutti.
He won the 2nd prize in SJMN which is the National Federation of Young Musical Talent in the Netherlands.In 2007, he was a finalist in the International Course of Conducting in Hilversum,
The Netherlands, conducting the Symphony Orchestra Metropole Orkest of the Dutch Radio.
After his move to Spain, he was chief conductor of the Symphonic Wind Orchestra Banda de Lalín, from July 2007 till October 2014. With this orchestra he recorded five albums collaborating
with international publishers such as World Wind Music, Baton Music and Amstel Music.
A portion of his extensive experience has been from invitations to conduct the orchestras of: Orquesta Sinfónica de Venezuela, Orquesta Filarmónica Medellín of Colombia, Real Filharmonia de Galicia, Orquesta Sinfónica EAFIT Medellín of Colombia, Orquesta Sinfónica UNAB Bucaramanga of Colombia, the Gran Canaria Wind Orchestra and the Choir of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Gran Canaria, the Metropole Orchestra of the Dutch Radio, Aulos
Wind Orchestra of Switzerland, the Municipal Band of La Coruña, the Municipal Band of Vitoria, among others.

Bram Sniekers has conducted solo artists like Frits Damrow, trumpet soloist of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra; Arno Piters, clarinetist of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra; Perry
Hoogendijk, solo tuba performer of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra; Rene Pagen, horn soloist with the Residentie Orkest, cellist Nitzan Laster with the Symphony Orchestra of the Dutch
Opera and David Kutz, solo tuba with the Symphony Orchestra of the Dutch Opera.
Additionally, he has had a distinguished and successful career as a trumpet player being soloist at the National Youth Orchestra of The Netherlands and the KMK, which is the Royal Military Band of The Netherlands and for his collaborations with orchestras such as the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Nederlands Radio Symfonie Orkest, Radio Kamer Orkest, Radio Filharmonisch Orkest, Residentie Orkest,
Brabants Orkest, Limburgs Symfonie, Het Gelders Orkest, Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest , Nederlands Kamer Orkest, the
Symphony Orchestra of Castilla and Leon, Real Filharmonia de Galicia, Cadaqués Orchestra and the Orquesta Ciudad de Granada, among others.
Added to this, he has performed as a trumpet player with conductors such as Mariss Jansons, Riccardo Chailly, Mstislav Rostropovitsj, Michael Tilson Thomas, John Adams, Jaap van Zweden, Gerd Albrecht, Claus Peter Flor, Sir Neville Marriner, Hans Vonk, Mark Wigglesworth and Eri Klas, among others.
